Canada – Junior Master Class 3 – Verslag 7 mei 2004

Early in the sack, early to rise for our maiden trip to Niagara Falls, Mrs Anita Townsend being our excellent guide today. Start from W.H Dayschool at 7.30 in the morning. On our way to Toronto we got into the hassle of the rush hour and arrived at Niagara Falls a little bit later than scheduled. The Maiden of the Mist boat tour was an incredible experience. Standing at the bow of the boat we could feel the mist slightly spray our faces. We were standing face to face with one of the natural wonders of the world.

Due to a lack of time we had to skip the visit to Skylon Tower and all of us voted for an extended visit to Kelsey’s where we had an excellent lunch. After a short break in a lovely village nearby, called Niagara on the Lake we got on the bus some of us loaded with Christmas presents and stuff bought at the world famous all season Christmas shop in the village. Niagara was considered to be one of the smashing highlights of this unforgettable trip to Maple Leaf Country Canada.

Arriving at Pearson International Airport at 3.30 pm we took leave of our friends, tears being shed and promises made for another meeting in the near future.

The only thing that we, teachers and students, can say is Thank you Staff and teachers of W.H Dayschool for your marvellous support and hospitality, Thank you Bob Hofman for organising this event, thank you for introducing us to this inspiring team of teachers and students from W.D Dayschool, thank you host families and students of W.H Day for your hospitality and friendship during our stay.

Thank you for this wonderful week.

Hope to see you again in the near future.

Jan Allard.
