The last day of our trip through Canada, we went to visit the Niagara Falls. At 8.30 am, after a great breakfast, we left Toronto and we arrived at about 10.00 pm at the Niagara Falls. When we saw the Falls we could not believe that they were a creation of nature. They were so beautiful and powerful, we really were impressed! When we walked beside the falls we got wet, because of the wind and the water.

From all the beauty we saw this week, the Falls are the most famous. Almost 12 million visitors come to see the Falls each year. The Falls have a Canadian and an American side. We were told that the Canadian side is more beautiful than the American side. We saw the American side only from a distance and we think that we agree. The Canadian side is much bigger: 670 meters wide and 52 meters high. The American side is 328 meters wide and 56 meters high.We were told that through the years a couple of daredevils were so attracted to the falls that they had tried to conquer the height as well as the cument. The most famous one was a French acrobat who walked on a rope over the Falls in 1859.

Not many daredevils survived their adventure. We could not believe that there were people doing things like that, because the Falls looked so strong!

We saw the falls very close via the Table Rock, Scenic Tunnels, they end at a platform on a outfacing rock very near the Falls. We descended with an elevator 38 meters and we were only 8 meters above sea level. We had to wear ponchos because of the splashing water. It was marvellous!

After our visit to the Niagara Falls we went for lunch to a small town called Niagara on the Lake, a town on Lake Ontario near the end of the Niagara River. The town looked so cute; it looked like a town in a fairytale. On Main Street there were historical buildings like shops and a pharmacy. In the shops you could buy some typical Canadian souvenirs like ‘Maple Syrup’ , ‘Cheese Whiz’ , etc.

At 2.00 pm we went back to Toronto to the airport. Here this great trip ended!
